Whenever one of my favorite families adds a new dog to their pack, I get the fun job of capturing all the love and excitement with some brand new dog portraits in Dublin, OH. This year, it was Ollie’s turn to shine—or so we thought! His big brother Baxter had other plans and totally stole the show. We headed to our favorite spot in Dublin for a fun session! I love how we've done so many sessions over the years, but working in the same location and environment keeps the sessions looking like they've all been shot together, despite being over a span of years!

Meet Ollie & Baxter

Ollie, the family’s newest rescue, is full of curiosity and joy. He’s still figuring out the ropes but fit right in like he’s always been part of the family. His sweet expressions and very high, but playful energy made him a total natural in front of the camera. Silly faces and all...and omgosh that tongue!

But then there’s Baxter—seasoned pro, camera ham, and official scene-stealer. Baxter was ready for his close-up, posing like he’d been prepping for this moment his whole life. He brought equal parts charm and sass, making sure Ollie knew exactly who the star was (with love, of course!). But so many years ago, Baxter was the one in high drive! lol

Capturing the Family Vibe

What I love most about these sessions is how the dogs’ personalities truly shine. Ollie was all about exploring and playing, while Baxter effortlessly worked the camera with his classic “I’m the boss” look. Their dynamic was pure magic—goofy, sweet, and full of unconditional love.

These aren’t just dog portraits—they’re real, joyful memories that capture the special bond this family shares. Every rescue dogs story and personality is so unique. We certainly captured Ollie and his uniqueness! ha! 

Looking Ahead

As we wrapped up the session, I couldn’t stop thinking about how special it’s been to watch this family grow through the years. My first session was with Parker and Rex, followed by Baxter and now Ollie. Every session has been a beautiful chapter in their story. I'm grateful for the chance to capture these unforgettable moments filled with love, laughter, and lots of doggy shenanigans.
