Gorgeous Fall Dog Session in Dublin Ohio

I’ve been photographing Lisa's senior kids for years, so you could say we've shared a lot of seasons together, which made this session easy in that comfortable, no pressure way. It wasn’t about overthinking anything, just showing up and letting the dogs do their thing.

I’d photographed her dogs once before, but only in studio. Since then, most of that original little crew has sadly passed, which made this session feel really special. Not heavy. Just meaningful in that very real, life moves forward kind of way.

With Boston getting older and Lisa and Julie just adding two new rescued girls to their crew, it was important for them to get great photos of them all!

This time, we went all in with a full outdoor experience, and honestly, the day could not have been better.

We photographed in Dublin at one of my favorite quieter locations, which is perfect for dogs. Late in the day, sun hanging lower, fall color doing exactly what you hope it will do. It just worked.

Boston is in his senior chapter and recently went through cancer treatments. I swear, if you didn’t know, you would never guess. He showed up with a totally chill vibe, just moving through the session like a pro.

Then there’s Shiloh and Desi. Newly adopted and very ready for their moment. They absolutely brought it. There was play, curiosity, big personality, and definitely a little sass. Desi made sure her presence was known. Tiny rockstar queen energy.

This is where I’ll always say it. Personality is way better than perfectly posed. Please stop worrying about how your dog is going to behave. That’s not what makes great photos.

We captured so much. Pretty scenery, sweet closeups, movement, personality, the full mix. And my favorite part came later when they saw their images and realized there were moments they didn’t even remember happening during the session. I love that every single time.

We wrapped it all up by designing the most gorgeous album and artwork. Pieces they’ll see every day and keep for years, which is always the goal.

This session was easy, fun, and full of heart. Exactly how it should be.
