A Tribute Dog Photography Session

If you follow my pet photography at all, you already know this handsome guy–Jenner. I photographed him 2 years ago not long after relocating to Columbus. His mom Mara and I had a great session romping thru creeks and embracing all of the gorgeous fall scenery around us. I think their connection and bond was magical. His session was so beautiful and scenic that Highbanks has become my very favorite place for photo sessions and I have Jenner featured everywhere.

I received the news and call just about a month ago and I had no idea I’d be photographing him again so soon. This time, sadly as a tribute session. Jenner was rushed to Medvet about 2 months back with a ruptured spleen caused by a tumor. While he has made a recovery from that surgery, he sadly has been diagnosed with a terminal cancer and has been given only a short time. I know he will even more spoiled (if that’s even possible) and this Session Day was going to include his favorite things along with his new family.  The day was devoted to doing what he loved best with the people that love him most….and clearly he adores them just the same. ♥

We started out at Jeni’s Ice Cream for his favorite treat and then headed over to Highbanks Metro Park. He LOVES being down by the creek and is happiest being in the water.  Lots of tears with this session as I knew there would be. It’s such an emotional time–I’ve been there. I’m grateful that they had decided to do one last session with Jenner and of course for trusting me with those lifelong memories of your special boy. I loved the bond that has grown with all of you and I hope you enjoy his images for so long to come. xoxoox
